Job Summary
On behalf of Policlinico San Donato, Talents Nexus is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Accountant to join its finance team at the Najaf branch of the Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf Teaching Hospital. Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with international accounting standards.
Perform variance analysis, cost tracking, and financial forecasting to support strategic decisions.
Collaborate with department heads to monitor budget utilization and control expenditures.
Compliance and Auditing:
Ensure full compliance with local tax regulations, statutory requirements, and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
Maintain complete and accurate financial records for audits and inspections.
Accounting Operations:
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll accounting, and asset management.
Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and enhance accuracy.
System Optimization and Process Improvement:
Support the implementation and optimization of accounting software and ERP systems.
Identify process inefficiencies and lead initiatives for workflow improvements.
Team Collaboration and Leadership:
Assist in the training and development of junior accounting staff.
Provide financial insights and reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or ACCA qualification preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a senior role—preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment.
Skills and Expertise:
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
Experience in a multinational or multicultural work environment.
Familiarity with healthcare finance operations or hospital accounting systems.
